Timothy M. Kaelin
President and Founder
Timothy brings over 15 years of small business management experience to ProfitDriver. Over the course of his career, Mr. Kaelin has held leadership positions, management roles, and been part of owner of several businesses. This experience has given him unique insight into the challenges that small business face—he has made the difficult decisions that small business owners and managers need to make every day.
His career began in the early 90s, at the New England Aquarium. There he worked in the Finance Department, as well as volunteering in his spare time in the Animal Rescue Department.
Next, he took a position with the Massachusetts-based start-up company, Atlantic Coast Brewing. During his time with the company, Mr. Kaelin was promoted from Finance and Operations Manger to General Manager. He was responsible for all finance and accounting activities and the day-to-day operations of the entire company. He was a key member of the management team, helping grow the business into a multi-million dollar company. After the sale of Atlantic Coast Brewing, Mr. Kaelin took on a variety of part-time positions to broaden his experience in a variety of business fields.
In June of 2006, Mr. Kaelin accepted a full-time position with Zoe Foods as Director of Operations, which included the role of Controller for the company. Within a year, Mr. Kaelin was promoted to Vice President, and he became part owner of the business. During his time with Zoe Foods, Timothy led several successful efforts to improve the overall profitability of Zoe Foods—including forming a strategic partnership with a global manufacturer that greatly reduced Zoe Foods cost of goods sold.
In addition to his work experience, Timothy brings a solid education to ProfitDriver. Mr. Kaelin has a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst and is pursuing his Masters in Business Administration from Northeastern University, with an anticipated graduation date in 2011.
In addition, in 2010 Mr. Kaelin is taking the required examinations to become a Certified Management Accountant.
Mr. Kaelin is a Professionally Certified Bookkeeper with the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers and he is a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor.
Currently enrolled at Boston University, Mr. Kaelin will complete the course work and necessary tests to become a Certified Financial Planner in July of 2010.
